6 Great Benefits From Using A Top Loader Washing Machine
Are you trying to determine if you should choose a front or top loader washing machine? While front loader washing machines seem to be a favorite these days by nearly every manufacturer, they do have their share of faults. Despite the fall in popularity to top loading machines, they do have some features and qualities that many people prefer, such as:
• Easy Installation – It is easy for nearly anyone to follow instructions to install these units because they don't have a lot of extra parts. All you really need is a water source, an electrical outlet and a drainpipe and you are pretty much good to go. Most of these units also include a platform to elevate the machine up a bit which not only makes them easy to unload, they reduce noise as well.
• Simple Repairs – If you have an issue such as the tub will not spin, etc., repairs are easy because there are only a few basic parts to these units. Not to mention, nearly everyone has spares laying around so picking up used parts for free or next to nothing is always a possibility.
• Durability – These units may not be quite as energy efficient as some of the newer models but they are proven to last longer., keep in mind that the more parts and features you add to an appliance, the higher your chance for breakage. There is a reason why when you rent or buy old houses they still have top loading machines from many years ago. It's because they last!
• User-Friendly – Do you really need every feature that is displayed on new models? Less options means less room for error. These are great for young adults moving out on their own because they are self-explanatory. Additionally, front loading machines require you to constantly bend over to load and unload which is never appreciated by anyone's back.
• Inexpensive – You can buy one of these models cheap! Doesn't it make sense to pay a lot less money for something that will probably last substantially longer and do just as good of a job? Consider this type of cheap washing machine.
• Mold and Mildew Resistant – Due to the vertical drum, water is drained out of the washing machine much more efficiently. Also, you can easily leave the top door open so air can get in there and circulate. This is not a practical option with a front loading variety.
The biggest drawback of a top loader washing machine is the lower efficiency rating. However, there are some manufacturers who have improved these versions, now called the HE top loaders. All of the great benefits are provided with them plus they offer the efficiency of a front loader.
